REFUND POLICY

I want you to succeed with my courses. But I understand that sometimes people have problems that get in the way of what they expect, and a refund becomes necessary.

In case of a refund request, these are the terms.

  • You have 30 days to request a refund after purchasing a product. Refunds will only be issued if requested within 30 days of purchase..

  • After receiving your refund request, it may take up to 30 days to refund payment. This is due to the time required for communication and payment processing systems.

  • Refunds are only issued for multi-lesson courses which include more than one guided Live Pack (.alp) such as “Escape the 8-Bar Loop”, “Essential Basics of Sound Design”, etc.

  • Refunds will not be issued for individual products such as preset packs (.zip), single Live Packs (.alp), or other single downloadable products such as “Monthly Production Challenge”, “Sidechain Compression”, “Master Channel FX Lesson”, etc.

  • All lessons are in English and require fluency in speaking and written communication. Refunds will not be issued for reasons of language / translation.

  • Refunds will not be issued for reasons of health problems, accidents, pregnancy, job loss or other life issues. When you buy a course, you get ownership of the material and it is yours to use now, later and in the future — after you solve your temporary issues.

  • It is your responsibility to do the work and create the music that you like. Mixitecture can help you learn how to do it, but can not make “good music” for you. None of the mixitecture products can guarantee that your music will be successful, commercially or otherwise. No refunds will be issued for reasons of being unhappy with your music.

I go to reasonable lengths to explain all products, list the requirements, and help with installation and usage problems. Before buying anything, it is your responsibility to read the course requirements.

You must understand what equipment and experience are required for each lesson, course, or product. Course requirements and pre-requisites are listed on all product descriptions. Read them.

I do my best to aid all students with downloading, installing and using my lessons. This means before I issue a refund, I reserve the right to ask questions about the problem, and determine if it is fixable or not.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE FOR A REFUND?

When you buy a multi-section course as described above, you are eligible for a complete refund, provided you meet the following conditions:

  1. You clearly communicate the reason for your refund request

  2. You accept an offer for help to solve your installation or usage problem

  3. The system shows that you have completed less than 3 modules of the course content

Note: the mixitecture members area tracks how many lessons and modules you have completed.

Before issuing a refund, I will check to see how much of the course you have completed. If the system shows that you completed more than two lessons, or unlocked more than two modules, you will not be eligible for a refund.

This means you can not download everything and then get your money back.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS FOR MONTHLY PAYMENT PLANS

Your period of eligibility does not extend through the entire duration of monthly payments.

You may get full access to all downloadable Ableton Live Packs upon your first payment.

Before issuing a refund, I will check to see how much of the course you have completed.

If the system shows that you have unlocked more than two modules, I will assume that you are happy with the course — and you will not be eligible for a refund.

This mean you can not pay one month, download everything and then ask for a refund.

After purchasing, you have 30 days to request a refund as stated above.

Only your first payment will be refunded, if you meet the above conditions.

EXAMPLES OF PAST REFUNDS

One refund was issued for “Escape the 8-Bar Loop”, because a user found that the MIDI clips did not work very well with his external hardware MIDI synth rack. Together we discovered that this was a limitation of the course material, and I issued him a refund. I then updated the course information to make the requirements completely clear.

The other refund was when Live6 user bought a course and did not realize the material required Live9. I talked with him, we arranged a refund, and I updated the course information to make it perfectly clear which version of Ableton was required.

Those are the only two refunds requests I have received for mixitecture products.

All other problems have been fixable with individual support for download, installation and system preferences setup.

I am happy to be able to say that I do not have very many unhappy students.
